Liquid Metal Integrated Circuit

Integrated circuit (IC) is a miniaturized circuit that integrates independent semiconductor devices and passive components onto a substrate or circuit board. It is the cornerstone of many modern electronic products and technologies. Although integrated circuits are becoming more and more complex, they are still composed of basic semiconductor devices. Implementing all kinds of basic semiconductor devices is the basis for further design and implementation of integrated circuits. Liquid metal materials have excellent conductivity and tensile properties. Their conductivity does not change significantly after stretching. Gallium-based liquid metals have excellent thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. Based on the development of flexible electronic technology, it is possible to fabricate liquid metal integrated circuits. In recent years, basic semiconductor devices based on liquid metals have been successfully fabricated. This chapter will mainly introduce the design of a variety of semiconductor devices related to liquid metal or liquid metal two-dimensional materials, introduce a variety of semiconductor-like devices based on the special properties of liquid metal, and finally introduce the exploration of device integration.
