Multi-Stimuli-Responsive AIE Molecular Crystal
摘要
Stimuli-responsive materials can exhibit visible responses to external stimuli such as force, light, gas, and electricity through molecular motions. The responses are rapid and highly sensitive with high spatial and temporal resolution, making stimuli-responsive materials an ideal tool for in situ and real-time detecting subtle environmental changes. Luminophores with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics offer intrinsic advantages for designing stimuli-responsive materials for practical applications in aggregated states. On the other hand, the response mechanisms and the structure-property relationships of well-defined crystalline smart materials can be revealed at the molecular level. Multiple stimuli-responsive materials are superior because of their distinct responses to different stimuli. In this chapter, we summarize the latest research progress on multi-stimuli-responsive AIE crystals under various external stimuli. By emphasizing the fundamental working principles, we aim to deepen the understanding of the stimuli-response processes and provide guidance for designing ideal multi-stimuli-responsive crystal materials.
