In the first part of this book, the narrative presented traces the shifting contours of crop-cattle interrelations and alongside that the shift in modes of agrarian production from pastoral to capital intensive and specialized practices. It has shown that how despite the advocacy for ‘mixed farmingMixed farming’, there had developed a model of milk production to satiate the urban demand for milk in the form of city milch stables.
