Optical Wireless MIMO Technology and Space–Time Coding

The work of the previous authors is reproduced and summarized, including the authors’ own views. Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology makes full use of spatial resources and can suppress the influence of channel characteristics on optical-signal transmission. The evolution and development of optical wireless MIMO at home and abroad are described in detail from the perspective of improving the channel capacity and spectrum utilization of optical wireless communication. The principle of space–time coding is introduced. Finally, the key technical problems faced by optical wireless MIMO systems are summarized.
