An Analysis and Monitoring of Groundwater Quality and Disaster Management

Monitoring water quality has become a critical component of water resources management programs. This chapter reviews a detailed water analysis, including Waterbody Detection and Extraction, improvement and monitoring of ground and underground water quality, and sustainability management of water resources. Furthermore, a study has been reported on the utility of river and ocean water and the curse-based analysis. Detecting and extracting waterbodies from satellite images is challenging due to spectral and spatial heterogeneity. Water and non-water surfaces can be spatially separated in satellite images of different spatial resolutions, utilizing well-known waterbody extraction methods such as NDWI, MNDWI, and ML classifiers. It has been observed that real-time remote monitoring and sensor-based technologies will become increasingly important in evaluating water quality. Deep learning models have become progressively prevalent in flood management areas, such as flood warnings and forecasting, by detecting abnormal waterbodies in recent years.
