The Arctic stands as a frontier ripe for exploration in renewable energy within the realm of structural engineering, particularly in tapping into the potential of wind power. This work offers a succinct yet comprehensive view of the Arctic’s capacity for wind energy, highlighting its significance, obstacles, and the implications for sustainable energy development in this unique and crucial environment. Marked by its extreme climate, the Arctic boasts sub-zero temperatures, robust winds, and expansive ice, presenting an abundant and unexplored wind resource. This potential for wind energy opens a promising avenue to diversify energy sources and mitigate the global impact of climate change. However, erecting wind energy structures in the Arctic brings forth substantial engineering hurdles. The harsh climate necessitates specialized designs and materials capable of enduring freezing temperatures, ice accumulation, and permafrost conditions.
