摘要

The northwestern regions of China, including Gansu, Qinghai, and Xinjiang, are situated in the northwest inland area and characterized by a typical arid to semi-arid continental climate. With hot summers, cold winters, and significant temperature variations, these regions provide favorable conditions for the formation of saline-alkali soils. The impact of evaporation is crucial, as drastic changes in soil moisture can lead to rapid fluctuations in salt crystallization, influencing soil properties. This, in turn, has a significant impact on the lifespan and normal usage of road surfaces. Therefore, understanding the influence of pavement structure on soil moisture is essential. This study utilizes Geostudio software to simulate and compare the effects of different pavement structures on soil moisture beneath the road surface. The results indicate that the soil moisture under the structure of conventional pavement with concrete shoulders remains more stable and consistently lower.
