摘要

The need for food is growing daily. This demand may be fulfilled using agronomic practices and conventional breeding methods that maximize plant architecture and light absorption to create cultivars with heavier yields. The plants’ increased ability to catch light is made possible by their increasing photosynthetic efficiency. The characteristics of the plant have a significant role in controlling the structures and functions of the ecosystem and directly affect the plant’s capacity to photosynthesize. Plants fix carbon, transport nutrients, and absorb water through photosynthesis; hence, improvements to plant traits must be necessary for improved photosynthesis. The plant yield that produces the higher-quality grains and biomass is directly attributed to photosynthesis. When comparing the average relative growth rates of C3 and C4 plants, the C4 plants show a higher growth-trait connection since their intercept is bigger.
