摘要

Vascular interventional technologies is the diagnosis or local treatment of lesions in the body via catheters/guide wires with precision instruments through the blood vessels under the guidance of medical imaging equipment. Digital medical imaging expands the doctor’s field of vision, and the catheter/guide wire extends the doctor’s hands, so that the doctor can treat diseases that used to be treated surgically or with poor results in internal medicine, especially for cardiovascular diseases, without cutting into human tissues (minimally invasive surgery with small incisions, some as small as the size of a grain of rice). Currently, vascular interventions guided by digital subtraction angiography (DSA) require the physician to be exposed to radiation throughout the procedure, and although strict protective measures are in place, this increases the physical exertion on the physician, thus greatly affecting the accuracy of the procedure and posing high occupational risks to the medical and nursing staff who work under radiation for long periods of time occupational risk. Therefore, robots are envisioned to replace physicians in performing vascular interventional surgery under radiation.
