Understanding the Metabolic Pathways to Increase the Product Yield

Synthesis of biochemical products at mass scale is highly desirable in industries. Metabolic control of enzymatic activities plays an important role in the production of products commercially. Metabolic pathways are regulated by activation or deactivation of allosteric enzymes. For this, the removal of inhibitors and addition of activators for allosteric enzymes is highly required. Moreover, mutant versions of enzymes by recombinant technology could serve as a promising approach for the synthesis of desirable products at mass scale. In this chapter, we discussed all the possibilities of optimization and standardization of biotechnological approaches that would provide new insights understanding basic principle which can be followed to attain better yields.
