Research on Solid Armature Parameters of Induction Coil Launcher
摘要
The armature is a key component of an induction coil launcher, its parameter design will determine the performance of the induction coil launcher. This article studies the effects of parameters on the performance of single stage coil catapults and multi-stage coil catapults by changing the length, outer diameter, and thickness of the armature. The research results indicate that, under the condition that the strength meets the requirements, for single-stage coil catapults with a load mass far less than the armature mass, the armature length is close to the driving coil, and the thickness is appropriately reduced, which can effectively improve the ejection speed and efficiency. For multi-stage coil with a load mass greater than the armature mass, the design length of the armature is about several times the length of the driving coil. When the thickness of the armature is greater than the skin depth, the catapult's launch efficiency is relatively good. The closer the outer diameter of the physical armature is to the wire of the driving coil, the better the coupling performance of the armature. However, the machining accuracy of the roundness and coaxiality of the driving coil and armature should be comprehensively considered.
