Research on Reactive Power Control of Synchronous Condenser Based on Sliding Mode Control

摘要

The new generation of high-capacity synchronous condensers is widely used in high-voltage DC transmission systems. Sliding mode variable structure control has the advantages of strong robustness and fast response speed, and has been widely applied to synchronous motor control. However, the application of sliding mode control to synchronous condensers in power systems has not yet been extensively researched. In this paper, a reactive power control method for synchronous condensers based on sliding mode control is proposed. The sliding mode control adopts exponential reaching law and integral switching function. Firstly, the three-order state space model of synchronous condensers is derived, and then the sliding mode control system is designed. Relevant simulation models are built and verified in MATLAB. The experimental results show that the proposed control method has good control performance and performs well in terms of adjustment speed and steady-state error. Therefore, this control method has certain reference values in practical application.
