摘要

SF6 is widely used in power insulation equipment as an excellent insulating gas, but when the equipment has partial discharge, abnormal heat release and other faults SF6 will decompose and produce SO2 and other gases. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of equipment insulation, adsorbents need to be placed to adsorb the decomposition gases. In this paper, the adsorption mechanism of SO2 on the surface of γ-Al2O3(110) is studied by using periodic density functional theory, and the results show that SO2 is adsorbed on the surface of γ-Al2O3(110) by chemisorption, and the adsorption effect is best at the Al1 site, with the absolute value of adsorption energy up to 8.217 eV, with 0.745 e electrons transferred from the surface to the gas, and the gas and the surface active sites to generate new bonds, proving that a strong interaction force occurs between them.
