Rohingyas in Bangladesh: Sociopolitical Conflict Potential
摘要
This chapter discusses the sociopolitical conflict potential of the Rohingya conflict in host country Bangladesh. The sociopolitical landscape of Bangladesh has taken a drastic turn due to the involvement of the Rohingya refugee population, and it has significantly impacted the host community in often negative ways. The areas of sociopolitical conflict potential of the Rohingya conflict in the host state are divided across seven areas of assessment. These areas are population, resource scarcity, health care, education, public goods, gender issues, and political issues, and they are first considered individually. The conflict potential across these areas is then discussed as a whole to paint a more concise picture of the host country’s situation.
