Conclusion

Rohingyas are indeed unfortunate people as they have no identity in their place of origin—Myanmar—and their host place in Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh. The neoliberal democratic era and human rights instruments have failed to protect the rights of the Rohingyas. These people are living as stateless without enjoying their basic rights. Media and perception of the people in Myanmar accelerated the othering process. The current location in Cox’s Bazar is not suitable to ensure their rights. The host place is already in a vulnerable situation from multiple perspectives due to the large number of Rohingya people in a congested area. The hope for returning to their home in Rakhine has also faded away as the international community fails to act effectively to repatriate the Rohingyas. Bangladesh as a host country is in a trap. This problem will be a security problem for the host country and beyond. Thus, repatriation to their homeland is the only solution that the Rohingyas earnestly desire from their heart.
