Civic Education as Peacebuilding in the Rohingya Refugee Camps
摘要
This chapter seeks to investigate the ways education can catalyze social cohesion or further conflict in the Rohingya refugee camps of Bangladesh. While research has identified the value of peacebuilding education to mediate tensions between the host Bangladeshi and Rohingya refugee communities, it has yet to explore the delivery of such interventions. We analyze how teachers can impede or foster peacebuilding processes in the Rohingya refugee camps, through a review of the existing literature. This chapter will alternatively apply the conceptual framework of critical design theory to model how peacebuilding education can be feasibly delivered in the Rohingya refugee camps.
