Tracking and Tracing Technology in Upholding Halal Product Integrity: Case in Indonesia

The issue of halal product integrity concerns monitoring the authenticity of halal products, so that guarantees can be made that will provide satisfaction to users or consumers. Guaranteeing traceability and traceability is a reference for halal integrity, because it involves a commitment to preventing contamination from upstream to downstream. A number of technologies are applied to encourage halal tracking and tracing. Blockchain technology is the latest technology that can fulfill tracking and tracing aspects, as a guarantee of the integrity of halal products. In this chapter, two case examples in Indonesia are presented, which apply product tracking capability and traceability in a halal context.
