Numerical Simulation for Electric Field of the 66 kV Cable Pro-molded Terminations

摘要

In this paper, based on Maxwell platform in ANSYS software, numerical simulation of electric field is carried out for 66 kV cable pro-molded termination. Comparative simulation of electric field is carried out for three cases of free termination, stress cone-free termination and stress cone-containing termination, and the results show that the stress cone-containing termination can effectively improve the problem of electric field concentration. The simulation optimization of voltage and electric field distribution at the cable termination was carried out under the variation of the length of the outer semi-conducting shield, the termination length and the angle of the stress cone. The over-voltage compliance of terminations was simulated by loading voltage excitation. The results of the simulations provide data references for the structural design of high voltage cable terminations.
