摘要

AC arc-fault events in the domestic distribution network release a large amount of energy in a short time and lead to fire accidents, endangering human life and property safety. Arc fault detection devices (AFDD) were invented by manufacturers to detect arc faults. Unfortunately, some normal currents can make these AFDD products trip by mistake, bringing trouble to users. Among them, hair dryers are easier to cause these products unwanted tripping in the process of switching operations due to the half-wave and full-wave AC waveform in the cold and hot air settings. This paper evaluated the performance of five GB31143-Listed products under the unwanted tripping tests of hair dryers. These failed cases are encouraged to consider in the AFDD design process to improve immunity to interference.
