A Technology Acceptance Model Perspective on the Metaverse-Fueled Educational Systems in the Higher Educational Institutions of India

Metaverse can be regarded as a set of immersive technologies that is taking the educational industry by storm. The objective behind this study is the exploration of the factors affecting the behavioral intention to use the metaverse-fueled educational systems. This study has used the TAM model. 416 responses were collected from the students and the teachers associated with the higher educational institutions of India. The reliability of the data was checked, and the validity was also tested by employing the Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Furthermore, structural equational modeling was employed and all the hypotheses were tested. For the data analysis, two software packages, that is, SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 28.0, were utilized in this study. All five hypotheses that were formulated in this study were found to be positive and significant. This study can prove to be very useful for the policymakers of the education industry as they will be able to better formulate the policies to integrate these new technologies into the present system of education.
