Surveillance of Reservoir Hosts

In the host-parasite relationship, hosts provide the nutrients needed by the parasites and even a temporary or permanent habitat for the parasite. Reservoir hosts have an important biological significance for the transmission and prevalence of parasitic diseases. This chapter elaborates surveillance techniques for species, transmission roles, and demographic characteristics of reservoir hosts.
