Lawyer Evaluation in Text and Context
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of lawyer evaluation in three aspects: its conception, its realization as a linguistic activity, and its role as a legal activity, and explores the relevant studies on it into three strands of topics: the linguistic expression of it in text, the predominant roles that lawyers assume in the immediate context of the courtroom, and the prospective stances they may take under the mediating role of legal culture. The overview paves the way for the theoretical understanding of lawyer evaluation in the Chinese court.
