Changes in the Social Manifestation of the Rural–Urban Floating Population
摘要
The rural–urban floating population refers to those whose original hukou is in rural areas, but currently live in cities and have not obtained the local hukou. They came along with the social transformation and developed from scratch. Since the founding of the PRC, thanks to industrialization and urbanization, hundreds of millions of farmers have left rural areas and “take root” in cities, which gave rise to a demographic change unique to the contemporary Chinese society.
