Numerical Simulations of Spacetime Singularities
摘要
This chapter describes the numerical simulation of the approach to spacetime singularities. The system used to study the singularities is a scale invariant tetrad system with constant mean curvature slicing. Though the mean curvature blows up as the singularity is approached, none of the scale invariant variables do. We cover the vacuum Einstein equations, the Einstein equations with a free scalar field, and the so-called ekpyrotic cosmological scenario, which is the Einstein-scalar system with a negative exponential potential
