Is RMB Becoming Systemically Important?

This chapter measures the systemic importance of RMB as an anchor currency and gives an overview of its evolution globally and regionally. We begin by introducing key concepts, such as anchor currency, and proceed to present the data and econometric models we used in this Chapter. Next, we discuss our empirical results and conduct a thorough analysis. Finally, we summarize our main findings of the Chapter.
