摘要

Raw materials are the most important substance in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries nowadays. These are obtained and produced from different sources, by using several techniques. These are available in different forms and phases, so the processing, storage, and analytical process of the raw materials are very crucial and essential to maintain the highest standard of the finished product. Several instruments and analytical processes are available and used frequently in the industry for routine checkup of the raw materials. Conventional analytical techniques like spectroscopy, chromatography, etc. are mostly used among all other analytical techniques. Some the techniques are either time-consuming or very costly for routine analysis. Nowadays, several biotechnological techniques or processes are being used as alternatives to conventional techniques. Biotechnology is one of the emerging fields in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. It has several applications and uses, including patient care, treatment of several diseases, and even for diagnostic purposes. Apart from all those conventional uses, in the recent past, biotechnological techniques have also been used for analyzing and testing raw materials. A detailed discussion is provided systematically to highlight the application of biotechnology in the analysis of raw materials.
