摘要

The Reaction Control system (RCS) by side jet is an effective method of control for supersonic missiles. The interaction between a supersonic free stream and a side hot gas jet for a missile model is numerically studied with a binary gas model. The cold jet and hot jet have a similar flow topology except that the hot jet has a bigger separation zone than the cold jet. The binary gas model has better computational efficiency and faster convergence than the chemical frozen gas model. Both gas models have good computational results in comparison with the experiment. The standard Shear-Stress Transport (SST) turbulence model has a smaller flow separation than the experiment but can be improved by an optimization of the empirical parameters of the SST model. With the increasing pressure of the hot jet, the separation zone is increased before the jet, but almost remains the same after the jet.
