Research on Long-Range Detection and Tracking of Small UAVs Based on AI Algorithms

Optoelectronic equipment is one of the key methods to track UAV, but in some real scenes, optoelectronic detection has a few problems, such as complicated targets detection and unstable tracking. Aiming at the problem of detection and recognition of remote small UAV, this paper proposes a brand-new adaptive tracking algorithm based on artificial intelligence. The advantages of correlation filtering algorithm and artificial intelligence algorithm are integrated, and the strategy fusion of tracking logic is carried out, which not only improves the tracking distance, but also enhances the tracking stability. In the case of high-speed real-time maneuvering of the UAV, it can track the UAV quickly and efficiently, and eventually realize the full range tracking of the DJI Phantom IV from 50 m to 3000 m.
