Comparative Study on Wave Disturbance Prediction Methods for the Modeling of Maneuvering Motion

摘要

Wave disturbance prediction is an important topic in the ship maneuvering motion modeling. In this paper, the influence of different wave load modeling methods on the maneuvering motion simulation is studied. The wave load prediction method based on the potential flow theory and the box approximation method are used respectively to calculate the first-order wave force and the mean drift force of a typical twin-propeller win-rudder ship, respectively. Further, by studying the influence of different wave load modeling methods on ship maneuverability parameters (longitudinal distance, transverse distance, etc.), the feasibility of applying the square box approximation method in the fields of navigation control and collision avoidance decision-making is analyzed. The simulation results show that the prediction results of the box approximation method are greatly affected by the wave parameters, and it is difficult to reasonably predict the ship maneuvering motion under the wave disturbance.
