Predicting the Effect of Hub to Shroud Ratio on NPSH 3% of Pump
摘要
This work aims to establish guidelines for designers to predict the effect of the hub-to-shroud ratio on NPSH 3% for different speeds. These guidelines are generated with the help of the CFD tool IDS, a specialized pump analysis tool. Establishing a procedure in IDS for NPSH 3% prediction is also an objective behind this work. Further, the established procedure is validated with experimental results. This work's outcome enables an understanding of the effect of the different hub-to-shroud ratios on the pump performance, considering cavitation. The impeller calculations and simulation are done in IDS. The work establishes the relation between cavitation number and hub-to-shroud ratios for a different specific speed.
