CFD Analysis of Laminar Vortex Shedding Using Immersed Boundary Method in OpenFOAM

摘要

The paper presents a study of laminar vortex shedding flows past a circular cylinder for Re 80 and Re 200. The numerical simulations were performed in OpenFOAM. Unsteady 2D Navier Stokes equations are solved with pimpleDyMIbFoam, which is an Immersed Boundary Solver developed and tested in Foam- Extend 4.0. Resulting Strouhal number, Drag and Lift Coefficients show good agreement with the available experimental and numerical results.
