Meaning in Human Communication

The conclusion formulated in the previous chapter is important for our discussion as it leads to the proposition that human communication is different from machine communication. It also implies that while Shannon’s model of communication as information transmission may be sufficient for engineering purposes, it may not adequately describe human communication.
