Attitude-Aware Based Geographical Opportunity Routing Protocol for Floating Wireless Sensor Network

摘要

Wireless sensor devices are increasingly deployed in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. In wireless sensor networks, routing protocols are responsible for establishing data forwarding paths between source and sink nodes. Unlike terrestrial environments, sensor devices deployed in aquatic environments are floating, which can cause routing path failures. Most of the existing routing protocols ignore the effect of attitude change on routing connectivity. In this paper, we propose PolarRouting, an attitude-aware geographical opportunity routing protocol for floating wireless sensor networks. PolarRouting divides the network topology into zones delineated by geographic information, according to the correlation between attitude and geographic information, to determine forward candidate areas. And PolarRouting selects an attitude-aligned relay node based on the attitude information of candidate nodes to reduce the routing interruptions introduced by the floating node. Simulation results show that compared to the traditional attitude-oblivious routing protocols, PolarRouting can prioritize reliable data transmission and further reduce the end-to-end delay of the network.
