摘要

Green technology has gained massive interest in recent years due to the pressing need for environmental sustainability in the face of escalating global environmental challenges. However, it is quite a new concept with little research that has been conducted. Considering the growing urgency to address climate change and its associated impacts, there is a critical need to explore the concept of green innovation. This bibliometric study analyzes the growth and dynamics of ‘green innovation’ as an emerging concept. A critical review of the literature was conducted using bibliometric analysis. The type of analysis conducted included co-authorship, co-citation, and co-occurrence. The research found that the research on ‘green innovation’ has increased significantly recently. China was found to be the leader in published research on the concept. The findings reveal the interconnectedness of green innovation with environmental regulation, green technology, and the development of green products and renewable energy sources. It was recommended that there is a need to strengthen government policies and regulations, promote green innovation education, support research and development efforts, and encourage global cooperation to address urgent environmental challenges and climate change. These measures collectively offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to addressing environmental issues and fostering a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.
