Vocational Work Studies

In expert-professional workshops, a systematization of the work tasks constituting an occupation is carried out and a task evaluation according to a fixed evaluation scheme is carried out by experts. The evaluation of the expert survey finds its way into the formulation of an open, dynamic job description. This job profile with the task plan forms the empirical starting material for the development of an integrated vocational training plan. Four purposes of work process studies: (1) to determine work process knowledge for the design of vocational education processes and means of order; (2) to determine findings on the design of work processes conducive to learning; (3) to determine findings on the design of human-machine interaction, computer-aided tools as well as other work systems, taking into account their tutorial quality; and (4) to further develop the vocational science training of vocational educators. Qualification research in occupational science has its starting point in the attempt to gain a meaningful and interpretative access to the reality of work, which is investigated through professional discussions and through research participation in work activities. Qualitative experiment: Researchers create a quasi-experimental situation through their intervention in the process of action-oriented observation. The distanced observation and the active experimentation are mutually intertwined. This chapter also describes the method of professional qualitative content analysis with its basic forms.
