Culture as a Form

We took visits on our third day of the Russian academic conference, first to the tomb of the archaeologist Artamonov, whose memory we were commemorating in that conference, then to the Krasnoyarsk landmark—the chapel. Later, we visited the Eugene Manor Museum and the nearby Alfandava site and then to the viewing platform at the bend of the Yenisei River. Finally, we visited the former residence of the Soviet writer Al-Ataev in the countryside. We spent the day getting a cursory look at everything spanning hundreds of years. We saw both old Russian houses from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as well as many Soviet-era modernist buildings, including large abandoned and rusted factories.
