Topology Optimization of Multi-material Structures Based on Improved BESO Algorithm

The topology optimization of multi-material structures offers a larger design space than single-material structures, displaying promising design potential and application prospects. This paper investigates the topology optimization of multi-material structures using the bidirectional asymptotic structural optimization (BESO) algorithm. The BESO algorithm is enhanced by incorporating the multigrid method to address the issue of optimization efficiency degradation resulting from dense mesh in finite element analysis equations. The proposed method is applied to multi-material structure topology optimization, and numerical examples validate its effectiveness compared to optimization efficiency. The results indicate that the improved BESO algorithm enhances optimization efficiency.
