Study of Influence Factors for Disruptive Innovation in Equipment Manufacturing Enterprises

Disruptive innovation is a powerful mode for innovation-driven growth. Identifying the key factors that limit the disruptive innovation capability of enterprises become critical for industrial transformation in China. Four typical equipment manufacturing enterprises in Fujian Province were selected for investigation. Interpretation Structure Model (ISM) was used to analyze the interaction mechanism among the influencing factors. Analytic Network Process (ANP) was used to calculate the weight of each factor. And the incentive model of the factors for the disruptive innovation capability of equipment manufacturing enterprises was established. The model reveals that capital input is the most important constraint factor affecting the disruptive innovation capability of enterprises, while enterprise innovation culture and enterprise personnel’s innovation consciousness are important internal factor of innovation. Furthermore, government policy support is the basic condition for enterprises to carry out disruptive innovation activities, whereas customer demand is the fundamental driving force. The results of this study provides reference for enterprises to comprehensively enhance their capability of disruptive innovation.
