PSO-Based Optimization of Rolling Contact Interface Modification of Cylindrical Roller Bearing

In order to eliminate the edge stress concentration on the rolling contact interface of cylindrical roller bearings, this paper proposes a roller logarithmic profile modification method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The optimization process of combining finite element method with PSO algorithm is introduced. The finite element method is used to analyze the contact problem, and the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the logarithmic profile parameters. Through the optimization of the logarithmic crowning profile of the roller which bearing a specific load, the effectiveness of the logarithmic profile parameters optimization method based on PSO algorithm is proved. The optimization results show that the optimized logarithmic profile can eliminate the edge stress concentration of the rolling contact interface, greatly improve the uniformity of the contact stress distribution, and effectively enhance the contact performance of the rolling contact interface.
