Numerical Simulation and Experimental Investigation on the Thin-Walled Lenticular Deployable Composite Boom During Coiling Process

摘要

The thin-walled lenticular deployable composite boom (LDCB) can be used as the main support component of the large space deployable structures of spacecraft. The coiling process of LDCB is analyzed, and a step-by-step analysis method of flattening and coiling is proposed to solve the problems of discontinuity of boundary conditions and non-convergence of numerical simulation. A program for extracting curvature and torsional variation of model is developed based on finite element software. The bending and torsional experiments of large deformation composite structures are proposed and tested. The failure margin of thin-walled large deformation composite structures can be effectively predicted by the experimental method.
