This chapter explores the impact of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in inclusive education for students with disabilities. VR immerses users in a computer-generated environment, while AR overlays digital content onto the real world. These technologies offer enhanced learning experiences, personalized and adaptive learning, and improved accessibility for students with disabilities. VR and AR simulations and laboratories provide safe environments for practice and skill development. They also facilitate communication and social skills through avatars and social simulations. Additionally, these technologies transform educational materials into interactive and accessible formats, making content more engaging and comprehensible. However, challenges such as cost, infrastructure, design guidelines, and ethical considerations need to be addressed for successful implementation. Collaboration between educators, developers, and accessibility experts is crucial to ensure inclusive and universally accessible VR and AR experiences.
