Systematic Review of Recent Trends of Industry 5.0 with Assistive Technologies in Higher Education and Smart Healthcare

Industry 5.0 is the fifth industrial revolution which addresses the personalized production and human empowerment in the manufacturing system. It is changing paradigms and has driven promising breakthroughs in several fields, including education and healthcare, by leveraging the collaboration of advanced technologies. The objective of this paper is to present a comprehensive review of the recently published academic literature on Industry 5.0 in the higher education and healthcare domain. Specifically, it summarizes the role of enabling technologies of Industry 5.0 in higher education and smart healthcare. Disruptive technologies include cloud computing, blockchain, big data, edge computing, cobots, virtual reality, and 6G. These technologies have the significant potential to provide a patient-centered smart healthcare system for the enhancement of quality of life. Furthermore, it observed that medical supply chain management and smart additive manufacturing are the emerging research domains in Industry 5.0-assisted healthcare. Additionally, it highlights the current challenges in the healthcare and signifies the plausible research directions for further research in this knowledge domain from the perspective of Industry 5.0. This paper provides scientific insights for research community across the globe in the collecting knowledge domain.
