Role of Multi-agent Technology in Preventing Breakdown Probabilities: Exploring Research Domain from Literature Review

The aim of this paper is to evolve the role of multi-agent technology in preventing breakdown probabilities by exploring the research domain and framing the research problem from the literature review. Breakdown for an organization can affect its productivity, bring unnecessary expenses, and increase the downtime of machines. Multi-agent technology can play a major role in preventing such breakdowns from happening. Many agents have been theorized and fabricated as per existing literature. However, variables governing such breakdown with their relevance in this regard haven’t been fully explored yet. This study is a step in that direction. By exhaustive literature review, the research domain to tackle the breakdown problem using the multi-agent system is identified. After studying multi-agent systems thoroughly, their applications in diverse fields were studied. Using that knowledge, the research field was narrowed down and identified. This study picks out the domain and states the research problem that shall be solved as future work.
