Tracking Climatic Variations Through Smart IoT-Driven Approach: An Exploratory Analysis
摘要
Climate crisis refers to the impact of climate change and global warming. We connect sensors and gadgets to Internet servers so that they can produce accurate reports regarding the state of the environment. It is very crucial to choose the right IoT sensors for each domain for climate monitoring. It would be beneficial for the environment if the materials used in constructing the sensors are non-toxic and biodegradable so that after they are used, there won’t be adverse effects of the sensors and contribute to the local region pollution. Due to various IoT devices operating, a notable amount of external power is required, thus increasing the carbon footprint. To lower the carbon footprint, sensors with the capability of harvesting energy from the surrounding environment such as air pressure, solar light, temperature, humidity, etc., are put into use. In this research study, we would be studying the major changes in climate experienced within the past decades, and how IoT has been working for the betterment of the environment, and with the help of two case studies, we will learn about the functioning of IoT components in the monitoring process of the environment as a whole, and the intervention of IoT in groundwater management.
