Enhancing Security in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Broadcast/Multicast Authentication Framework with Identity-Based Signature Schemes

WSN applications are feasible for real-time access to the data. Real-time access to the data may become the cause of security breaches. The proposed authentication scheme incorporates cryptographic credentials, secure communication channels, and biometric authentication to ensure robust user and node authentication. Formal security analysis is conducted using the ROR model, and simulations are performed using AVISPA. Our analysis considers a one-way hash function execution time (Th) based on meticulous examination of experimental results. We approximate Th to be around 0.0005 s, establishing its validity for comparative analysis. The results demonstrate the scheme's efficacy, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data. Our proposed approach strikes a balance between security demands and WSN limitations, providing a secure framework for seamless access to real-time data. The empirical results reinforce the scheme's effectiveness, practicality, and suitability for WSN applications.
