High Sensitivity Optical Receiver Architecture

Optical receiver should have the capability to amplify weak current. Sensitivity is introduced to characterize the minimal optical power while maintaining the required bit error rate. High sensitivity is desired to achieve long distance communications, as the fiber loss scales linearly with its length.
