This chapter explores health promotions and their models that can be applied to nurses and health professional clinical practice. This chapter uses research examples in rehabilitation and early childhood. This chapter provides examples of the research projects that provided a conduit to a practice change using the research-to-practice nexus that enables the application of health promotion and salutogenesis to health professionals’ clinical practice. This chapter also focuses on the role of understanding health and well-being along with the role of nurses in providing interventions in community and acute care settings. Nurses in acute care provide 24/7 care and are uniquely placed to provide health promotion interventions when needed to patients. Nurses are also embedded within their communities and can provide culturally, inclusive, and reflexive person- and community-centered responses to health promotion needs, assisting in the relevance and uptake of health promotion interventions.
