An Innovative Fuzzy Logic PI Controller Design Strategy for Active Shunt Filters to Enhance Power Quality
摘要
In the power system, the power quality issue is the most delicate one. The main objective of the work is to use compensating techniques to reduce harmonics present in the power system. In this work, harmonic current is reduced by using a shunt active power filter (SAPF), which also balances reactive power. In this study, a three-phase shunt active filter is designed based on the fuzzy logic PI controller. The application of fuzzy control is that it provides low, medium, and high linguistic values that are helpful in assessing the possibility that an event will occur. There is no requirement for a precise mathematical system model. In this work, the simulation was carried out using MATLAB/Simulink. Simulink models are created for both the balanced and unbalanced three-phase systems. On both symmetrical and asymmetrical sources, a PI controller and a fuzzy logic controller are employed. The FLC with PI controller works better, as shown by the simulation results.
