Performance Analysis of Arduino-Based Chlorophyll Measurement System
摘要
The measurement of plant leaf chlorophyll content is meant to assess plant health, fertilizer requirements, and harvest optimization. The botanical processes for chlorophyll measurement are time-consuming and laborious while the electronic meter such as the soil plant analysis development (SPAD) meter is very expensive. Therefore, a low-cost chlorophyll measurement system using Arduino was designed. The proposed system is designed using a non-destructive method and gives instant results. It has a built-in GPS and Wi-Fi module which automatically stores the place, date, and time of sample collection and gives access to a Wi-Fi network to transmit data on the internet. The proposed system consists of a sensor design using LEDs and photodetectors. The paper presents the performance analysis of the proposed chlorophyll measurement system considering different conditions. Chlorophyll Content Index (CCI) is the main parameter for performance analysis. Red LED has maximum absorbance and IR LED has zero absorbance by leaf chlorophyll. Using this property CCI readings were taken with the help of the proposed system for different plant leaves, then calibration was done using Arnon’s method in the Botany lab.
