Assessment of FSPV-Grid System for Electrification of Industrial Sections with Shrinking Derating Factor

This paper presents a systematic framework for identifying the required generating capacity of steel industry. Renewable energy sources are the most dominant generating sources, with solar photovoltaic generation being the most popular. Advancements in the field of solar generation have resulted in floating solar photovoltaics, also known as FSPV. In this paper, a steel industry power supply system is considered, which is accessed via the grid. There are also two unused reservoirs at the plant. The authors proposed a FSPV system to be used within this steel industry to make it more economically and technically advanced. The solar PV derating factor (DF) has been chosen as a sensitive parameter.
